Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to plan their taxes and their path to financial independence. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

What we do

Text and controls meet WCAG contrast ratios in light and dark mode. Everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible. A link at the top of each page skips to the main content.

Forms label every field and announce errors to screen readers. Charts and progress bars have text equivalents. Pages reflow on small screens and when text is enlarged.

Animation is optional. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site stops animating. Finch, our guide, can be hidden at any time with “Hide Finch”, and her tips close with the close button or the Esc key.

Known limitations

This is an early version of the site, and we are still testing it with screen readers and other assistive technology.

Documents you upload, such as scanned statements, may not be accessible themselves. We read the figures from them so you don’t have to.
